 In 1678 a large urn was reportedly found on a hill to the east of Crundale in Godmersham parish. The urn contained a shallow earthen pan and another small inscribed urn and was also covered by a large flat stone and surrounded by flints.

 Sherds of Roman pottery and an almost complete flagon of early 2nd century Romano-British ware were found in fields near King's Wood The findspot is at a particularly prominent location on a bank overlooking the Wye river.

 Three 1st century Roman cremation burials were found during works to extend Thruxted Mills in 1955. All three burials consisted of a burial urn of coarse grey local ware accompanied by a Samian plate.

 Roman pottery was found in 1953 at Godmersham during construction work for houses. The Samian dish and grey ware poppy-headed beaker were dated to the mid-2nd century and are seen as evidence of burials.
